 Martin Luciani, M.Ed

Founder & Lead Clinician
Registered Psychotherapist

Welcome! I'm Martín and I am so happy you're here.

I've been supporting individuals, couples and families with their mental wellness since 2018. Nothing has brought me more joy and fulfillment than helping people realize their potential, build meaningful relationships, and live a happier life.

I'm an existentialist by nature, which means that I believe that every person is innately driven to find meaning and purpose. Whether you want to increase your school/work/sport or everyday performance, or you are dealing with social anxiety, low self-esteem, challenging life transitions or relationship issues, my work centres on helping you overcome the challenges keeping you feeling stuck and unfulfilled.

Life can be unrelenting, challenging and unpredictable. I believe that inside these attributes we can discover ourselves and find our deepest sources of meaning. That's why I want to help you to make life meaningful.

How I Work

Sometimes our concerns become a perfect gateway for curiosity. In fact, many of us go into therapy juggling with "why" questions.

- Why do I feel this way?

- Why can't I get over this?

- Why do I feel like I'm alone?

- Why am I afraid?

- Why did this happen to me?

- Why am I like this?

Although these questions may seem almost impossible to answer and understand, they highlight your innate yearning to make sense of your experiences and find meaning in the challenges you face.

Sometimes, however, we need a little help with this reflective process, which is where therapy can be so important.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, validating and informed by your unique needs and goals. Creating a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed space is paramount to me. I strive to ensure you feel respected, understood, and validated throughout our therapeutic journey together.

In my practice, I integrate research-based techniques and principles from several modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Gottman Method, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These modalities allow me to work with you as we explore your circumstances, process your emotions, and learn effective skills to help you feel empowered and ready to live a life you love.

I'm a firm believer in remaining curious, which is why I approach therapy as a gentle, compassionate and person-centred exploration of who you are and who you hope to become.

In alignment with my practice philosophy, I offer free 15-minute consultations so that we can get to know one another. There is no obligation for you to continue with me as your therapist if you feel that we aren't the right fit.

I want you to feel empowered in your search for support, so I encourage you to ask me about the therapy process, how therapy can help you with your goals and ask any clarifying questions you have.

Consider me a supportive ally in your search for meaning. If you've remained curious thus far or you're ready to book your first session, I invite you to reach out.

It would be a privilege to help you make life meaningful.
