What to expect during your 15-minute consultation?
During your 15 minute consult, your therapist will introduce themselves to you and tell you more about the type of therapy they offer, the areas they specialize in and the therapeutic approaches they use.
Your therapist may ask you questions about your past experiences with therapy, your interests in attending therapy at this time and briefly discuss some of your goals.
You will also have the opportunity to ask questions. It is important to come prepared for questions for your therapist because the 15-minute consult can be a great opportunity to decide if you and your therapist will be a good therapeutic match.
Is a 15-minute consultation required?
Absolutely not. However, it is a great way for you to learn more about your therapist by speaking directly with them.
Sometimes people know when a therapist will be a good match simply by reading their profile, but taking the extra step of connecting with your therapist over the phone can help you feel confident that you've found a good match.

FAQ's about 15 Minute Consultations
How long after the consultation can you make an appointment?
This can depend on your therapist's schedule and finding a time that work for you. You can typically expect that you will be scheduled in for your first session within a 2-week period
You can also take your time after the consultation to think about how it went or to schedule additional consultations with other therapists. We encourage you to search, ask and consult so that you can find a great therapeutic match, even if that therapist is outside our practice.
How do I know if the therapist I am consulting with takes my specific insurance?Â
We provide all our clients with a detailed receipt that they can submit to their insurance provider. Please keep in mind that we do not submit your information directly to the insurance company. We encourage you to call your insurance company to explore your coverage.
When do I need to complete paperwork?Â
We ask that you complete all paperwork before starting your first session. Once you have submitted your documents, we will schedule you in for a session at a time that works for you and your therapists schedule.
